Madonna – opening single ‘Gimme All Your Luvin’ and her full first album for Interscope are set to drop in March. The Queen of Pop is also set to perform at the Superbowl and has definitely enlisted the star power of MIA, Nicki Minaj, William Orbit and Benassi on the LP.
Lana Del Rey -”Born to Die,” Jan. 31 – the Internet music bloggers best friend Lana Del Rey’s star is set to rise in 2012 – expect lots of TV appearances and Radio 1 and 2 airplay for this LP.
Robbie Williams – after a marriage and a tour with his band-mates Take That 2012 should produce a very different Robbie. Written and produced with band member Gary Barlow it will be really interesting to see which direction Robbie has chosen to take with his music. From press reports Robbie seems to be at his most motivated in years recently he said he ‘wanted to be the biggest pop star in the world.’ Album expected around Autumn with a possible tour.
Green Day - the trio have been dropping new tracks into live shows over the last year. Carpe Diem is a possible single. Their musical is also coming over the the UK this year.
Justin Bieber – love or loathe him the ‘Bieb is big business – expect a more ‘adult’ album to hit shops in Spring featuring Kanye West and Drake.
U2 (Unconfirmed) - The Edge told Rolling Stone this year, it’s “quite likely” that U2 will put out new music, with Bono confirming, “We have so many [new] songs, some of our best.”
No Doubt and Garbage – we’ve been lacking a bit of women fronted rock bands of late – 2012 is set to change that with the return of Gwen Stefani and Shirley Manson respectively fronting their bands.
Nicki Minaj – The PR campaign has already started for ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” due for release on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) in 2012, Nicki has managed such a successful cross-over into the mainstream charts this year – can she build on her foundations?
Muse – the Brit trio are currently in the studio working on a sixth album which they’ve said will be radically different from previous releases.
Paramore – who are now working without original members, the Farro Brothers, are busy with their fourth album and have been releasing a string of singles of late.
Christina Aguilera – we are expecting Xtina’s 2012 campaign to kick off any day now with the release of ‘Love Your Body’ to be followed by a full album around Spring.
Alicia Keys – Alicia has spent this year raising her newborn song, Egypt, she is expected to release an album this year, her first since 2009.
The Killers - Las Vegas rockers The Killers have tentatively titled their next effort “Battle Born”; the band told Las Vegas City Life that it could be out as soon as the summer of 2012. This, after Brandon Flowers released a solo effort and the group went on a year-long hiatus from the road and the studio to concentrate on his family.
Leona Lewis - Glassheart – after a shaky start to this album campaign Leona has been back in the studio re-working this album which is now due for release in March.
Ke$ha - it is thought that the glitter, unicorn loving pop princess will release her next album in March – always an interesting affair hopefully Ke$ha will have kept a ‘Till the World Ends’ for herself.
Best of the rest – Paul McCartney (Feb), Emeli Sande (Feb), Adam Lambert (March), JoJo (April). Little Boots, Lady Gaga, McFly and Selena Gomez and the Scene (dates unknown).
Wishlist – more from Nicola Roberts, Take That, Britney Spears, Hurts and Darren Hayes.
